Think of the new universe Lamina as an advanced extraterrestrial art class. Learning how to use abstraction to draw, paint and eventually animate new stories and genres to entertain a world that has lost interest in its morbid fascinations and moved onto creative realignment.

Once you can adjust your source of entertainment towards a more creative outlet instead of the spectacle of destruction, morbidity and disgust, society finds new ways to channel its curiosity and attention.

The Laminae are like students in this art class learning how to draw with abstract storytelling.

The teachers are a race called the Lumine. Beings of light, however hidden, their vibration level is on the ultraviolet spectrum. The Laminae cannot directly see them, nor can humans.

The Lumine, however, have ways to make themselves known. But first it takes training for a Laminae to be able to handle what the Lumine are to show them.

The first assignment for the Laminae is to work with a little folktale about a mythological creature that is to be captured and then released. 

Evolving the storyline as it goes from the experimental phase into telling the story in “Black and White”.

How to structure a story towards creative realignment. Steps:

When describing the environment and the stakes, frame it in terms of potential and curiosity instead of strictly a dangerous situation or person.

Instead of fixating on fear, channel the attention towards observation and problem solving.

Transform the challenge for your catch. Empathize skill and character rather than harm. The danger becomes the opportunity to develop one’s skill rather than just a threat. 

The response of the characters shifts from fear to creative insight.

The climax transformation. The risky experience becomes growth.

End with the new insight and/or moral choosing curiosity over fear, and alignment instead of chaos.

Show how the encounter changed the perspective.

Once you have a handle on telling simple stories with creative realignment, then you can take it to the next level

Think of this as the art teacher instructing you to look and recognize the basic lines and geometric shapes within an image.

Communication that is a form of interdimensional telepathy. Turning a telepathic image into an animation sequence. 

But, while the Laminae are still young, they need to learn how to communicate with basic images. Even before that, is learning to communicate with colour and light.

The Lumine want creative content for their entertainment.

The Lumine have a unique way of traveling throughout Lamina. First, they have to send a message to the people in the area they want to go. Then their destination has to be made “Reactive” since they are beings of UV light.

Their only way of interacting with the people and the environment depends on it becoming a UV reactive space.

The Lumine NEED the Laminae in order to travel throughout Lamina so they have little choice but to be benevolent towards them.

This relationship allows the Lumine to travel interdimensionally, travel through time without technology, and also gives them the ability to shapeshift, taking on the appearance and abilities that the Laminae interpreted them before contact.
