Introduction

Simply referred to as the “Beast With No Name”

It’s saliva is a valuable treasure to the people. Why? It serves as a powerful medicine.

The red saliva contains:

Flavonoids: Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Lamina builds it’s skeleton as a system of two rings, with Nuclumito acting as a bridge for communication. It’s scaffold is revealed as each piece of information is processed. So, the more information that enters the portal expands the universe Lamina.

Drawing in the spark and creating building blocks

Nuclumito is not in the shape of a ball, but instead it acts like a wheel. Nuclumito is a night realm. It appears black and absorbs the white light from the spark to create Ixchel.

The center of the light absorbing property however, is not the center for life itself. It is not the spark itself but instead it has taken directions from the spark.

When it comes to creating animals for Lamina they are the paring of two completely different species. Not much is known about the poisonous sea slug called a Blue Dragon, so I’m focusing on the resin from what is called a Dragon Tree. This resin has healing properties and inspired me.

The Dragons Blood has antimicrobial qualities

Causing enemies to “bleed” is symbolic to the break down of previous social structures. Those who are ego driven have to bleed in order to reveal their most powerful life force.

The behaviour of this animal is not predictable since it has complexities that branch off, giving it the opportunity to have different forms of the same species both physically and psychologically

It does not communicate with the people although, how it communicates with other animals is complex but is also clear and complete.

Origin Story

From a small tree in tropical winds bearing curious fruit, we have the beginning of Lumine and Laminae evolution. The animals arrived first, long before people. As a songbird eats the tiny fruit, it meets its end as the prey for the first beast of Lamina. It is not a typical tree with tasty fruit. When the beast ate the bird that ate the fruit, it knew. As it lived, its body shifted from the knowledge it received. Its evolution tells a symbolic story if you look carefully.

Blue dragon:

A thief might steal your clothes but he can never wear your essence. It will always be something beyond him.

The most powerful weapon is loaded but patient

Once ingested, nematocysts must be moved intact

Endocytosis genes (clathrin-mediated uptake)

Rab GTPases (vesicle routing)

SNARE proteins (membrane fusion control)

These genes let nematocysts survive passage through gut cells without firing

Ion channel regulation genes

Calcium signaling modifiers

pH-control transporters

Immune tolerance genes

Modified innate immune signaling

Downregulated phagocytosis pathways

Tolerance-associated transcription factors

Structural storage genes

Nematocysts are stored in cnidosacs at cerata tips

Genes involved:

Cytoskeletal organization

Extracellular matrix proteins

Cell polarity genes

The slug’s own DNA simply knows how to handle them

Prey recognition & uptake genes

can sequester stinging cells (nematocysts)

Its DNA may contain mutations in ion channel genes and receptors that prevent nematocyst toxins from binding or disrupting cells

Nudibranch-specific Structural Genes

DNA also carries mutations or adaptations in receptor and ion channel genes that make it immune to the toxins of the creatures it eats, something very few other animals can do.

has modifications in receptor genes

Venom Sequestration (Cnidarian Nematocysts)

Hermaphroditism

Coloration and Camouflage

Evolution

The images of this creature are actually it in its early prehistoric form. Shaped by legends and the people’s understanding of its message. It does not speak but offers knowledge through its appearance as its evolution has a story to tell

Comiphora

Also known as The Myrrh Fox. A highly venomous fox-lorises hybrid. The red patch on its chest produces an oil that can be used to relieve pain

While it’s referred to as a Myrrh Fox it’s actually a small primate, about the size of a kitten if you look closely at its paws it is able to grab onto things. It also enjoys eating fruit and small insects.

Origin Story

In a harsh land with unforgiving sun a tiny being falls from the sky. What was once in the possession of a bird of prey, a small creature has fallen. With good fortune it has escaped becoming a meal and lands its tiny body onto a small tree. Once it gets its bearings it noticed the tree is covered in little berries. Happily snacking it begins to realize, not a specific thing but instead like a wave of knowledge. It sits with this newfound awareness as it waits for the cool night to continue its way.
